Let’s just say it: I didn’t choose the Mom Jean life—the Mom Jean life chose me. 💁♀️
As a mom, boutique owner, and professional multitasker of all the things, my wardrobe has to work harder than my toddler trying to open a snack with scissors. So today, I’m airing out the real MVPs of my mom-iform (that’s mom + uniform, for the uninitiated) in all their glory. Here are 6 brutally honest outfit confessions I know I’m not alone in:
1. Risen Jeans are my comfort zone AND my power move. When they’re high-waisted, compressive, and make the booty look good; that’s not just an outfit, that’s emotional support.
2. I own seven “good” graphic tees… and I rotate them like fine china. Each one has a vibe: errand day, baseball mom mode, “don’t mess with me,” and of course, the sacred “laundry day” tee.
3. If it has pockets, I’ll buy two. Pockets = survival. They hold snacks, receipts, matchbox cars, and broken crayons. No purse required.
4. I call it a “layered look,” but it’s just because someone smeared peanut butter on me. Cardigans, kimonos, denim jackets—bless you all for being cute and hiding mystery stains.
5. My sneakers are white…ish. I gave up keeping them clean after child number two. Now, I call the smudges “personality.”
6. I will fight someone for a cute matching set. Give me a lounge set that makes me feel like I have my life together, and I will wear it to brunch like it’s couture.
Being a mom doesn’t mean sacrificing style—it just means being strategic about it. If I can chase kids, run errands, and feel cute doing it? That’s a win in my book.
